SUNY Oneonta's Center for Economic Development (CECD) and Carlson Associates, Inc. have been contracted by Tri County Apex (TCA) Vision 21, Inc. and six local municipalities to develop comprehensive plans for the Village and Town of Bainbridge, Village and Town of Sidney, and the Village and Town of Unadilla. The Village of Unadilla's recently completed comprehensive plan will be integrated into the overall project. In addition, a regional economic development strategic plan will be developed based on these comprehensive plans.
The comprehensive plan for each community will include: a combination of information and data collection, and an inventory of the assets of each community (such as transportation, parks and recreation, telecommunications, and utilities). Also, a survey of residents in each community, a study of village Main Street merchants, and focus groups of community leaders will be conducted to determine the key economic and quality of life challenges and opportunities facing each community.
