5th Annual TCA Vision 21, Inc. Surf 'n Turf Picnic & AuctionTCA Vision 21, Inc. is a non-for-profit organization that consists of
community leaders, business owners, political officials, pro-active citizens, and
community conscience residences. The Surf 'n Turf Picnic and Auction is the only
fundraiser event for Vision 21 each year. They averaged about $3,000 year in net
profits and serve about 180 people at this event.This year marks the 5th Annual and is set for August 22, 2004
at the Sidney Fireman's Pavilion at Keith Clark Park located on River Street.
The dinner begins at 1pm and the auction begins around 2:30pm (after everyone has ate).
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by contacting any of our
directors or by calling (607) 561-7332. The price of the ticket is $35 per person
and this includes steak, lobster, corn on the cob, dessert, side dish, and drink.An exciting part of this event is the auction. All of the items that are
auctioned off are donated items from local businesses in the region. From framed artwork
to a VCR and DVD player, a bidder can find something that interest him or her. All proceeds
go to the TCA Vision 21, Inc.The monies are then used to increase the quality of life in our region.
Donations have been given to the Tri-Town Boys & Girls Club, Rainbow Day Care
Program, Community Theatre Groups, local organizations, and also to local garden
clubs. Also TCA Vision 21 produces two annual Calendar of Events brochures
(Summer and Winter) that is distributed across Upstate New York. 15,000 Summer
brochures are produced each season and contains information of all the events
from May to September. These brochures can be found at tourists booths, bed and
breakfasts, hotels, restuarants, grocery stores, and any other high traffic locations
from Binghamton to Albany.
